Guest Posting for Indie Authors: Free Opportunity to Share Your Work and Reach New Readers

Most indie authors know the struggle. You pour months or years into a book, get it published, and then face the hard part — getting people to actually notice it. Ads cost money. Social media is noisy. Building an audience from scratch takes time most of us don’t have.

One of the better ways I’ve found to help with that is guest posting. Not the paid kind, and not the spammy kind. Real guest posts on a site that already has readers who care about books, writing, and literature.

That’s why I opened up free guest posting on my site. If you’re an indie author (or a writer who wants to share knowledge about English language and literature), you’re welcome to contribute.

Why Guest Posting Still Works for Indie Authors

When you publish on someone else’s platform, you step in front of an audience that isn’t already following you. That matters. A good guest post can introduce your name, your voice, and eventually your books to people who might never have found you otherwise.

It also builds a bit of authority. When another site publishes your work, it signals that your writing is worth reading. Over time, those placements add up — more visibility, better search presence for your own site, and occasional new readers who stick around.

I’m an indie author myself, so I know how useful free exposure can be. That’s the reason this opportunity exists.

What I’m Looking For

The site focuses on English language and literature. That means guest posts should fit somewhere in that space. Things that work well include:

  • Poetry analysis or annotated poems
  • Notes and insights on novels or plays
  • Literary theory explained in an accessible way
  • Academic-style essays or research pieces
  • Study skills and practical advice for learners
  • Original articles that help readers understand literature better

I don’t accept pure promotional pieces or content that’s already published elsewhere. Original work only. I’ll review for grammar and typos, clean things up if needed, and publish when I can. No guarantees on timing, and I don’t charge anything.

If you mainly want to promote a book rather than write a full article, I also run a separate free book promotion option for indie authors. You can find the details linked from the main write-for-us page.

How to Submit

The process is straightforward. Full guidelines and submission options are here:

Write for Us – Join Our Community of Writers

You can send a structured lesson, a regular article, an annotated poem, a quiz, or (through the separate process) a book review or promotion. Just follow the instructions on the page. Please don’t send pitches by email or Facebook — use the methods listed there or leave a comment if you have questions.

After you’ve had ten articles published, I’ll feature you on the List of Experts. It’s a small way of recognising people who keep contributing.

A Few Things That Help Your Chances

Write something the readers of the site will actually find useful or interesting. Keep the tone clear and natural. Double-check that the topic fits English language or literature. Make sure the piece hasn’t appeared anywhere else.

That’s really it. No complicated requirements, no fees, and no pressure to buy anything.

Why I’m Doing This

I run the site as both a writer and a reader. I like seeing good work shared, and I know how hard it can be for indie authors to get their voices heard. Free guest posting is one practical way to help with that.

If you’ve been looking for a place to publish thoughtful writing about literature or language, or if you simply want another platform where your work can reach new people, this is an open invitation. Head over to the write-for-us page, read the guidelines, and send something when you’re ready.

Looking forward to reading what you create.
