Anthropocentrism in Contemporary Environmental Fiction

Table of Contents Research Question How does contemporary environmental fiction challenge anthropocentric understandings of nature? Objectives (1) To examine the ways in which contemporary environmental fiction constructs nature as an active participant in social and ecological relations rather than as a passive resource subordinate to human ends; (2) to analyse the textual mechanisms through which mutual aid, ecological interdependence, and more-than-human agency receive sustained elaboration; (3) to evaluate the political and epistemological significance of these narrative experiments for the expansion of ecological possibility beyond anthropocentric frameworks.
