Individual Autonomy and Collective Life in Anarchist Fiction

Table of Contents Research Question How does anarchist literature negotiate the tension between individual autonomy and collective responsibility? Objectives (1) To examine the ways in which anarchist fiction constructs the relation between individual freedom and collective obligation as a productive complementarity rather than an irreconcilable antagonism; (2) to analyse the textual mechanisms through which mutual aid, promising, and direct participation sustain both personal initiative and social solidarity; (3) to evaluate the political significance of these narrative negotiations for the imagination of non-hierarchical forms of life.
